Rouhani calls for solving Khuzestan problems upon leader’s order

Speaking at national projects inauguration event on Saturday, Rouhani praised Khuzestan Province and its people because of their standing for Iran, saying that the province has faced several problems these days regarding water supplies and the increasing temperature.

He referred to the trips by senior Iranian officials, including First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian, to the region, President Rouhani expressed hope that their visit to Khuzestan would alleviate problems.

In accordance with the order given by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei yesterday, Rouhani said, the problems of Khuzestan must be solved.

President Hassan Rouhani, in the 84th week of production surge campaign, inaugurated several projects implemented by Ministry of Energy throughout the country.

Speaking in the online inauguration event, Rouhani ordered the launch of water treatment plants and the water pipelines for Babol, Babolsar and four other cities and 57 villages inhabiting 600,000 people in north Iran and Khalkhal city in Ardabil Province in northwestern Iran.

The projects also include Wastewater treatment plants in Konarak, Sistan and Baluchestan Province in southeast Iran and Houreh in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiyari Province in western Iran.

Moreover, several other water projects, including pipelines and damns, and powers plants were inaugurated in several locations throughout Iran.

On Friday, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called on the upcoming government to do its best to resolve the water crisis of the southwestern province of Khuzestan.

Pointing to problems of people in Khuzestan province, he said that the issue of water shortage was one of the pressing problems in this southwestern province, so that responsible officials should make their utmost efforts in solving the problem.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks on Friday after receiving the second dose of an Iranian vaccine against COVID-19.

"These people should not have problems and if this problem had been addressed timely, such dire situation would not have happened," he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei also warned the people to be aware of plots hatched by enemies against the country, especially during the present time.

"Enemy is seeking to take advantage of any opportunity for its benefit while noble people of the country should adopt wise steps in line with foiling their conspiracies," he added.

On Thursday, President Rouhani stressed the need to respect the right of people to protest the harsh living conditions caused by draught and extreme heat.
